For Parents Navigating Extreme Behaviors

Safe Harbor — Family Coordination Program

If your child's behaviors have moved beyond typical parenting challenges — aggression, violence, running, sexualized behaviors, self-harm threats, or behaviors that have already brought CPS, police, or residential placement into your world — you need support built for this exact reality, not generic parenting advice.

Safe Harbor is our dedicated program for parents raising children with extreme, escalating, or dangerous behaviors — including families facing active CPS allegations, criminal charges arising from a child's behavior, or the need to urgently secure residential placement to keep the rest of the family safe. We help you organize care, document risk patterns, and navigate school, insurance, CPS, and legal systems proactively — before situations spiral into crisis.

"Insight isn't the same as safety. This journey teaches your body what safety feels like, not by reading about it alone, but by practicing it, daily, with someone beside you."

— Kristina Miller, Roots of Safety
Why a Live Journey

The book gives you the map.
The journey walks it with you.

Roots of Safety was written as a paced, nervous-system-first path: twelve gentle Roots, one per week. Reading it on your own works. But regulation was never meant to be practiced in isolation, and a body that has spent years bracing alone often needs more than a page to learn something new.

That's what this journey adds: a new guided practice from Kristina every day, for twelve weeks, plus Kristina herself, live in the community, for support whenever you need it, alongside everyone else doing the work beside you. You still move at your own pace. You just don't have to hold the pace by yourself.

This journey is for you if:

You've read about regulation but haven't felt it in your body yet
You do better with a daily rhythm and someone leading it than a book alone
You want a community that understands without you having to explain
You're ready to be accompanied, not just informed

We meet you where you are.

No threshold to cross. No level of crisis required. You are welcome here at any stage of your family's journey.

We move at the pace of safety.

Every plan is built around where your family actually is — not where a timeline says you should be. Steadiness over speed.

We stay.

Not just for the crisis. Through the paperwork, the follow-up, the moments when you just need someone in your corner who knows the whole picture.

Not Sure Where to Start?

That is a completely reasonable place to be.

Some families arrive during acute challenges. Others come seeking language, tools, or steadiness before things unravel. You don't need to have it figured out to reach out. Tell us where you are and we'll help you find what fits.
